A safe, attractive route down the slope!

We recently completed a very neat, practical step installation in a steep rear garden in West Linton, creating a safe, attractive route down the slope while maintaining the garden’s character.

We constructed the step sides and fronts using concrete edging, which we chose for its durability and clean lines that sit well with the surrounding planting.

The edging provides robust support and defines each riser and tread clearly, making the steps both functional and long-lasting.

For the treads we used loose grey pebbles rather than compacting them flat, which gives a natural, informal finish that complements the rural setting.

The pebbles allow for good surface drainage and a gentle, textured feel underfoot, while the concrete edging keeps the material neatly contained.

The result is a practical, low-maintenance solution that improves access along the steep section without overpowering the garden’s existing aesthetics.

If you’d like some new functional and beautiful steps or hard landscaping changes to your garden, give Keeno a call on 07795 102273 and we’ll arrange a consultation.
