Planting
Choosing the Right Plants
We start by considering the space available in your garden. Different plants have varying light and water needs, so we assess whether your area is sunny, shady, or somewhere in between then select a mix of bushes, trees, and flowers that will flourish in your specific conditions.
Planting Trees
Trees form the backbone of any garden, offering structure and a sense of permanence. They can provide shade, privacy, and habitats for wildlife. When we are selecting trees, we think about their mature size and ensure they won't overcrowd your space. Native species, such as silver birch or rowan often thrive best and support local biodiversity.
Incorporating Bushes
Bushes are wonderful for adding volume and texture. We often use them as hedges for privacy or as focal points in garden beds. When planting bushes, we consider their growth habits and choose varieties that will suit your garden style. Evergreen bushes maintain their appearance year-round, while deciduous options provide seasonal interest with flowers and berries.
Planting Techniques
When planting, we pay attention to spacing to ensure that each plant has room to grow without competing for nutrients. We dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and just as deep, gently loosening the roots before placing the plant in the ground, then backfilling with soil and water thoroughly to help settle the roots.
We can assist you with the regular maintenance of your plants, including pruning and deadheading, which will keep everything healthy and encourage new growth.
By carefully selecting and strategically placing trees, bushes, and flowers in your garden, we can create a harmonious and inviting outdoor space for you that flourishes for years to come.
