Lawn Care
Lawn care is essential for maintaining a healthy and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space. We can help with your well-kept lawn which will not only enhance the beauty of your property but also provides a comfortable area for leisure and recreation.
Key Components of Lawn Care
Mowing: Regular mowing is critical for keeping the grass at an optimal height. This should be done when the grass reaches about one-third taller than the preferred length. Seasonal variations can dictate the height; for example, during the spring and autumn, keeping it slightly longer can promote stronger roots.
Watering: Grass requires adequate moisture to thrive. In Scotland, where rainfall can be erratic, consider watering deeply but infrequently to encourage roots to grow deeper. Early morning is the ideal time for watering, ensuring less evaporation and minimising fungal diseases.
Fertilisation: We can apply fertiliser at the appropriate times, enhancing growth and resilience, using a balanced fertiliser in spring to kickstart growth and a high-potassium fertiliser in the autumn to prepare the lawn for winter.
Aeration: Lawn aeration helps to alleviate soil compaction, allowing air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots more effectively. We prefer to aerate in the spring or autumn, particularly for high-traffic areas.
Weed Control: Weeds can compete with your grass for resources. Regularly inspect your lawn and promptly remove weeds.
