Dunster Summer House
We recently completed a Dunster summer house for a client in the Scottish Borders — a striking blend of classic design and practical durability tailored for the region’s variable weather. Constructed from high-quality, pressure-treated timber with double-glazed windows and a felted roof, the finished building provides a cosy, bright space ideal for year-round use.
The exterior was finished in a subtle, weather-resistant stain to complement the surrounding garden while the interior was insulated and lined to create a comfortable retreat that the client can use as a home office, hobby room or snug summer sitting room.
Every summer house we build is designed with attention to detail: level foundations and good drainage for longevity, robust joinery for stability in stronger Border winds, and careful sealing to keep draughts and damp at bay.
For this job we built the summer house on the client’s existing paving but we can of course create the most suitable foundations for any build.
We also construct fully bespoke summer houses to customers’ exact specifications and requirements. Whether you need a larger entertaining space, an insulated studio, or a compact garden office, we can adapt footprint, glazing, roof style and internal fittings to suit your needs and budget. Our bespoke service covers planning, foundations, electrics and finishes so you receive a complete, ready-to-use building.
