A Transformation that Balances Form and Function

Recently we completed a transformation that balances form and function: a bespoke decking area with a beautifully crafted pergola that immediately elevates the outdoor living space.

The decking was fitted with durable, treated timbers and laid to provide a clean flow from the house to the garden.

The pergola was constructed to complement the deck’s lines, offering a sheltered focal point ideal for seating or dining while allowing dappled light to create a calming atmosphere. We finished the timberwork with a protective treatment to ensure longevity and to retain its warm, natural appearance.

Around the deck we built several sleeper beds in pressure-treated timber and planted them to create a rich sensory experience — aromatic herbs, textured grasses and seasonal flowering shrubs chosen for scent, tactile interest and year-round colour.

Decorative stone neatly frames the beds and provides contrast against the timber and planting, whilst improving drainage and reducing maintenance.

For the client’s mountain bikes we installed a purpose-built wash bay complete with an two-tone base and an efficient drainage system to channel run-off safely away.

The result is a practical, low-maintenance outdoor area that’s perfect for relaxation, entertaining and post-ride maintenance, all finished to Impact Landscapes’ high standard.
